FOREIGN LEGION: EKPAI, NWAKAEME SCORE

Super Eagles forward Anthony Nwakaeme continued his scoring spree on Sunday with a 77th-minute strike in Hapoel Beer Sheva’s 2-0 win away to Maccabi Petah in Israel’s topflight. A handful of Nigerians also found the net elsewhere in Europe. We take a look at them.

Ubong Ekpai|Zlin

Ubong Ekpai scored his fourth league goal of the season in Zlin’s 2-2 home draw with Sparta Prague. The Nigerian provided the game’s opener after 15 minutes, firing past Slovakian goalkeeper Martin Dubravka and into the bottom left corner from just inside the box after a wonderful first touch. He was substituted on 68 minutes.

Anthony Nwakaeme|Hapoel Beer Sheva

Anthony Nwakaeme extended his goal scoring run in the league, as he netted Hapoel Beer Sheva’s second goal in the 2-0 win at Maccabi Petah Tikva on Sunday.

The forward took his league tally to four for the season, tapping in after Maccabi goalkeeper spilled a shot.

Oghenekaro Etebo|Feirense

In the Primeira Liga, Feirense lost 1-0 to visiting Maritimo on Sunday. Oghenekaro Etebo was on the pitch for Feirense from start to finish.

Sylvester Igboun, Kehinde Fatai|UFA

Sylvester Igboun grabbed his fourth league goal of the season in Ufa’s 3-1 loss at Spartak Moscow. The forward was issued a yellow card for rough play in the second half. His compatriot and club team-mate, Kehinde Fatai, was a 90th-minute substitute.

Aaron Samuel|CSKA Moscow

Aaron Samuel sat out CSKA Moscow’s thrilling 2-2 draw at rivals Lokomotiv Moscow.

Fegor Ogude |Amkar Perm

Fegor Ogude was a starter in Amkar’s 1-2 home loss to Anzhi Makhachkala on Sunday.

The bullish player played the entire game.

Stanley Amuzie|Lugano

Stanley Amzie was an unused substitute in Lugano’s 1-1 draw at Thun.

The 21-year-old left-back has struggled to cement his first team place at the Stadio Comaredo since joining the club at the start of the season from Sampdoria.
