Europa league: Azango extends scoring streak, Onuachu grabs brace

Former Plateau United forward Philip Azango found the back of the net for the third consecutive Europa league game, as AS Trencin defeated Dutch club Fynenoord 4-0 in the first leg of the third qualifying round on Thursday.

The 21-year-old scored Trencin’s third goal of the night.

Paul Onuachu’s first-half brace handed Midtylland a 2-0 win at Welsh side The New Saints.

Hapoel Beer Sheva and Cypriot side Apoel settled for a 2-2 draw, with Anthony Nwaekeme assisting compatriot John Ogu for the Israeli club’s first goal before scoring the second.

Sylvester Igboun was on the score sheet in Ufa’s 2-1 win over Luxembourgian side Progrès. His compatriot Kehinde came on in the second half for the Russian side.
