Spanish club CD Leganes have agreed a loan deal for Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo for the season.
The deal would see the Nigeria international, who spent last season on loan at Süper Lïg club Kasimpasa, play for Pepineros in the 2018-19 season.
“CD Leganés and @ChelseaFC reach an agreement for the loan of @omeruo22. His presentation will be at ID Butarque next Friday (11:30 h. CEST),” the La Liga club announced on Twitter.
Omeruo was only 19 when he left his country to play for Belgian side Standard Liege. In 2011, he signed for Chelsea and later played on loan at ADO den Haag, Middlesbrough, Alanyaspor and Kasimpasa.
The player, who has never made a competitive appearance for the Blues, has been capped 40 times by Nigeria.
A member of Nigeria’s 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winning side, Omeruo has participated in two World Cups — including Russia 2018, where he made two starts — and the Confederations Cup•
