Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi has signed a new six-year contract with Leicester City that will keep him at the King Power Stadium until June 2024.
In a statement posted on his Twitter page, Ndidi wrote: “Happy to extend my contract with @lcfc special thanks to my team mates, coaches and the fans for their constant support ⚪️🔵 #2024 #foxes.”
The 21-year-old midfielder has been a regular starter for the Foxes since joining from Belgian side Genk in a £14m deal in January 2017.
The club expressed happiness at being able to tie the player down for a further six years, saying in a statement: “Leicester City Football Club is delighted to confirm that Wilfred Ndidi has signed a new contract, keeping him at King Power Stadium until June 2024.
“In the 18 months since his arrival from Belgian side Genk, the 21-year-old has developed into one of the Premier League’s most exciting talents as well as a key member of Leicester City’s first team squad.”
Ndidi, winner of Leicester City Young Player of the Year in each of the last two campaigns, has scored four times in 63 appearances for the Foxes.
