Nigeria international Ogonna Chukwudi scored the only goal as Kristianstads DFF claimed all three points at Piteå IF in a Damallvenskan fixture on Sunday.
Piteå — who featured Chukwudi’s international team-mate, Faith Ikhidi — missed the chance to go top of the table, with the Nigeria striker’s 35th-minute goal helping the visitors complete a league double over Stellan Carlson’s ladies.
June Pedersen mistimed a headed clearance following a cross and the ball squirted loose. Chukwudi made the most of the situation, cutting the ball onto her left before smashing into the bottom right corner — to score her second league goal of the season.
Chukwudi, 29, played the entirety of the match, so did international team-mates Rita Chikwelu and Faith Ikhidi.
The result lifted Kristianstads to within five points of leaders Goteborg•
