Nigeria international Samuel Kalu scored his first Bordeaux goal in the 3-3 draw with Nimes.
The playmaker, who was in brilliat form all evening, weaved past two defenders before unleashing a fierce, left-footed shot from the edge of the box into the bottom right corner to give his side a 3-2 lead, but the visitors battled back to secure a point, with Umut Bozot firing past the Bordeaux goalkeeper 12 minutes from time.
Kalu, 21, was also involved in Les Girondin’s other goals — the second, releasing Sergi Palencia whose pass across the face of goal was brilliantly finished by Jimmy Briand.
After failing to grab what would have been their second Ligue 1 win of the season, Bordeaux now found themselves second from bottom of the league table.
Kalu — a €16m buy from KAA Gent — recently made his Nigeria debut in the 3-0 win at Seychelles in a 2019 AFCON qualifier•
