Imama Amapakabo has left Nigeria Professional Football League side Elkanemi Warriors after his contract at the club came to an end.

The coach, who won the league with Enugu Rangers two seasons ago, took over as Elkanemi coach at the start of the season after penning a one-year deal.
The deal ended following the Maiduguri side’s exit from the Aiteo Cup — the club’s last competition of the season — after a 1-0 loss to Nasarawa United in the quarter-finals at Enyimba International Stadium, Aba, on Thursday.
“I signed a one-year contract when I joined the club before the start of the season and right now the season is over,” Amapakabo told Scorenigeria.
“I took over the club from someone and equally, as I’m leaving, someone else will step in.”
According to 234football sources, the coach has not decided on his next destination, but Rivers United has been mooted as a possible landing spot for the coach.
Elkanemi’s Aiteo Cup campaign– and, indeed, their 2017-18 season — came to an end on Thursday after substitute Balogun Kabiru scored on the stroke of 90 minutes to hand Nasarawa United a 1-0 win against the Maiduguri side•
