James Adeniyi struck either side of half-time to help Gabala SC earn a 3-1 win against Neftchi Baku in the Azerbaijani Premier League on Saturday.

Neftchi were handed their first defeat of the season, as Adeniyi’s brace and Joseph-Monrose’s strike fired the home side to victory at the Gabala City Stadium.

Adeniyi, who joined Roman Hryhorchuk‘s side from Skenderbeu, opened the scoring on 17 minutes, when he finished off a brilliant team move.

The Nigerian then turned provider, releasing Frenchman 🇫🇷 Steeven Joseph-Monrose, who fired in from 12 yards to double the lead.

In the 77th minute, Adeniyi, 25, curled in from close range to make it 3-0, but 🇬🇭 Kwame Karikari scored a consolation in stoppage time to deny the hosts a clean sheet.
