Former Super Eagles striker, Kalu Uche was on target for his indian club, ATK, as they beat Chennaiyin FC 2-1, to record their first home win of the season on Friday.
Uche and team-mate John Johnson shot the West Bengal club to a 2-0 lead, before Carlos Daniel pulled a goal back for the defending champions.
The former Almeria striker was delighted to notch his first goal, after turning up four times for Stephen Coppell’s side.
“I’m happy today. Am happy for the fans, for the support they’ve given to the ATK family.
“We’ve worked so hard to achieve this Victory. It’s our first (win) at home and something we’ve wanted since the beginning of the season.
“I’m getting myself back and looking forward to the next game (vs. Bengaluru),” the Aba-born forward told indiansuperleague.com
Uche joined ATK — his 16th professional club — from Delhi Dynamos in March.
The 35-year-old was part of the Super Eagles team to South Africa 2010 FIFA World Cup, where he scored two goals.
