Nigeria players abroad: Former Flying Eagles defender Daniel Adejo scores late winner in Lamia’s hard-fought victory against Levadiakos

Lamia defeated Levadiakos 3-2 on Saturday to record their first Greek Super League home win of the season, with former Nigeria U20 international Daniel Adejo netting the winner.

Makis Chavos’ men took an early 2-0 lead through goals from Argentina duo Facundo Bertolio and Jeronimo Baralas, only for strikes from Lenny Nangis and Petros Giakoumakis to level things up, before Adejo scored to earn the Lamia-based team all three points.

The defender, 29, headed home with seven minutes to go — his third league goal of the season — triggering wild celebrations among Lamia players and fans.

Lamia started the season poorly — losing their opening three league games and drawing another three after that — but back-to-back wins in the last eight days have lifted them to ninth place in the 16-team league•
