Nigeria international Stephen Odey, for the third consecutive game, found the back of the net as FC Zürich lost 3-2 at St. Gallen.
The 20-year-old, who scored the winner in Thursday’s Europa League match against Bayer Leverkusen, also grabbed an assist in the Swiss Super League game.
St. Gallen raced into a 2-0 lead through goals from Vincent Sierro and Majeed Ashimeru. Benjamin Kololli pulled one back, with Odey claiming the assist.
However, four minutes from time, Swiss international midfielder Tranquilo Barnetta scored to restore the home side’s two-goal advantage.
Ludovic Magnin’s men mounted a late rally, but it could only produce a goal — a stoppage-time strike from in-form Stephen Odey — which could not rescue the team from defeat•
