Samuel Chukwueze scored his first Villarreal goal in Thursday’s six-goal thriller at Almeria in the Copa del Rey round of 32.
The 19-year-old, who is included in Nigeria’s 23-man squad for this month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with South Africa, scored his side’s third goal after latching onto a through pass.
Villarreal blew away a two-goal advantage, conceding two goals in the final four minutes to draw 3-3.
Nunez Chema’s second goal of season — a 52-minute penalty — gave the hosts the lead. But Santi Cazorla’s equaliser, a Francisco Callejon own goal and Chukwueze’s cool finish Nunez gave the Yellow Submarine a 3-1 lead.
However, a late brace from Senegalese forward Sekou Gasama ensured the game finished level.
Villareal will host the second leg on December 5.
