Enyimba goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai has been called up to the Nigeria squad for this month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with South Africa in place of injured Francis Uzoho.
Elche confirmed on Monday the Nigeria World Cup goalkeeper suffered a fracture in Elche’s humiliating Laliga 2 defeat at Càdiz, where the Nigerian conceded five goals.
The Spanish club also revealed the 19-year-old will be out for four weeks.
Afelokhai, a Home-based Eagles player, is in line to make his Super Eagles debut after being called up on Tuesday.
The Enyimba first-choice shot stopper, 30, represented Nigeria at this year’s African Nations Championship (CHAN), the competition for players playing club football in their home country.
