The forward, Nigeria’s top scorer in the qualifiers, was substituted after 17 minutes during the Chinese Super League game after suffering a suspected hamstring injury.

He is a doubt for the Bafana Bafana game on November 17, and Changchun Yatai — who are in danger of losing their top-flight status — await a scan to determine the extent of the injury.

First-choice goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has been ruled out of the game after picking a knock during Elche’s 5-1 loss at Cadiz in Laliga 2 on Sunday.

Enyimba’s Theophilus Afelokhai was called up on Tuesday to replace the 19-year-old.

Yatai are hoping Ighalo will shake off the injury in time for Sunday’s final-day clash at fellow relegation-battlers, Dalian Yifang.

The Chinese Super League season will end on Sunday, but a winner emerged on Wednesday.
