Henry Onyekuru ended his nine-game goalless streak for Galatasaray, as he netted twice in the 3-0 win at Kayserispor on Saturday.
The striker opened the scoring in the Süper Lïg game when he tapped in from close range after the Kayserispor goalkeeper parried a shot into his path.
He then overpowered a defender, sprinted into the hosts’ box before picking his spot — and despite claims of a foul in the build-up, the goal stood.
Onyekuru, who received a late call-up to the Nigeria squad for the upcoming AFCON qualifier with South Africa following the withdrawal of Odion Ighalo, was booked for removing his shirt in celebration.
Ömer Bayram scored late on to put the game beyond Ertugrul Saglam’s men, volleying home Mariano’s brilliant cross.
Onyekuru’s brace took his league tally to four for the season.
