The 25-year-old has agreed a three-and-a-half year deal with the club that will keep him at the club until July 2022.
Confirmation of the striker’s signing came on Thursday morning, with the club announcing on their website, “The board of directors, headed by Mr. Samir Halabia — and after coordination with coach Ihab Jalal — have signed Nigerian striker Augustin Lamshi Ogui, otherwise known as Austin Amutu.”
Jalal was in the market for a striker to following Ahmed Gomaa’s loan move to Saudi club Ohod.
The player, who turns 26 on February 20, becomes the Port Said club’s eighth signing of the current transfer window.
He will link up with compatriots Emeka Eze and Ezekiel Bassey, a fellow new signing.
Amutu, who represented Nigeria at U23 level in 2014, could make his Al-Masry debut on Monday, as the club face Alexandria club Ittihad in an Egyptian Premier League fixture.
