Nigeria international Asisat Oshoala returns to European football with Barcelona Femeni

Nigeria forward Asisat Oshoala is back in Europe after penning a six-month loan deal with Spanish club FC Barcelona Femeni from Chinese giants Dalian Quanjian.

24-year-old signed a contract that will keep her at the Primera Division club until the end of the 2018/19 season, after completing a medical on Thursday morning.

Three-time African player of the year, Oshoala — who will wear No. 20 shirt at Barcelona — returns to European football two years after leaving Arsenal for Dalian Quanjian.

During her first stint in Europe, she also played for Liverpool.

“This is obviously one of the best clubs in the world. The team has a great history and wonderful football mentality,” the former Rivers Angels striker said after she was unveiled at the Nou Camp.

“I am excited about playing with Vicky Losada again. She’s a great midfielder, with a lot of energy and skill. I also met Fabiana in China and she helped me to make this decision.

“My goal is to strengthen the team and help them to win and make history. This is a fantastic opportunity because I’m sure something big will happen here.”
