Egypt 2019: Alalade, Akpan among 33 players listed for training camp ahead of Libya fixture

Nigeria men’s U23 Head Coach Imama Amapakabo has invited Enyimba forward Wasiu Alalade, Kano Pillars striker Shamman Tanze and Akwa United wing-back Etboy Akpan to a training camp ahead of Africa U23 Cup of Nations qualifying fixture with Libya.

The roster, comprising 33 players, also includes FC Ifeanyi Ubah’s Chijioke Alaekwe, Lobi Stars’ left-back Ebube Duru and Katsina United’s Chinedu Ajana.

Libya, who play their home games in Tunisia due to security reasons, will host the first leg between 20th and 22nd March, while the reverse fixture will hold on March 25.

The camp has was opened on Wednesday.

Nigeria are current champions, having won the second (2015) edition of the tournament, which was hosted by Senegal.

Amapakabo will work alongside Kennedy Boboye (Assistant Coach), Fidelis Ilechukwu (Assistant Coach) and Etta Egbe (Goalkeepers’ Trainer).

Egypt will host the third Africa U23 Cup of Nations, from November 8 to 22.
