Taiwo Awoniyi scored for the fourth consecutive game, as Royal Mouscron came from behind to earn a point at Standard Liege.
The former Nigeria U23 international scored on the hour mark, latching onto Selim Amallah’s brilliant through ball before finishing off with his left foot to cancel Razvan Marin’s opener and ensure a share of the spoils.
Awoniyi, 21, has been in fantastic form since moving to Les Hurlus from KAA Gent in January for a second loan spell at the club.
The on-loan Liverpool striker had a miserable stay at Gent, failing to score in 15 league appearances. But he’s since turned his fortunes around and looks set to hit double figures.
Prior to Friday’s Jupiler Pro League game at Stade Maurice Dufrasne, Awoniyi had netted five goals in his last six league games.
His form has reportedly caught the attention of Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr, with reports in Nigeria claiming the German plans to name the forward in Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations provisional squad.
