Francis Ordega has posted on her social media accounts a final farewell message to Washington Spirit and their supporters after her move to Chinese club Shanghai WFC was completed.
The 25-year-old signed for the Chinese club recently after bringing an end to her stay at Spirit.
“I am grateful to you all….my fans, teammates, coaches @spiritsquadron and everyone who has contributed to my success with the Washington Spirit..You guys made a big difference in my Life for the past four years..I would like to say that you guys are so thoughtful and caring waoh😭really cannot find the right words to express myself better..I am really really thankful to have such an amazing and sweet ladies as teammates…sad to say goodbye but then I gat to face the reality of Life by accepting the new challenge…I will be rooting for you guys from the other side of the world 👍🏼..America my second and adopted Home🏠.. love ya all…,” she wrote.
In a four-year Spirit career, interspersed with loan moves to Sydney Women and Atletico Madrid Women, the Gboko-born forward scored 13 goals in 38 games.
Ordega represented Nigeria at the 2011 and 2015 World Cups.
