Super Eagles watch: Nwakaeme extends scoring streak in Trabzonspor win against Akhisarspor

Anthony Nwakaeme scored for the third consecutive game, as Trabzonspor came from behind to defeat Akhisarspor 2-1 at the Medical Park Stadium.

The Nigeria international cotrolled a loose ball, shrugged off a challenge before rifling in to put his side level after Jeremy Bokila had put the visitors ahead off Rajko Rotman’s square pass.

Jose Sosa then handed Ünal Karaman’s side all three points when he converted a 76th-minute penalty.

The goal took the striker’s tally to four in the last three games, seven in the league and eight in all competitions.

The 29-year old, who was omitted from Nigeria’s squad for the upcoming games against Seychelles and Egypt, found the back of the net in the Turkish Cup quarter-finals 3-1 loss to Umaniyespor and netted twice in a Süper Lig clash at Kasimpasa, which ended 2-2.

Nwakaeme’s compatriot Ogenyi Onazi was not listed in the matchday squad, as he is still nursing an injury.

Elsewhere, Victor Moses played the full 90 minutes of Fenerbahçe’s 2-1 loss at Basaksehir.

At the Eryaman Stadium, Abdullahi Shehu was booked, as Ankaragucu and Bursaspor played out a goalless draw. The midfielder was on the pitch from start to finish.
