Paul Onuachu helped FC Midtylland book their place in the final of the Danish Cup with a brace, as Ulvene thrashed OB Odense 4-0 in a semi-final Odense clash at MCH Arena on Wednesday.
Midtjylland took the lead a minute after the half-hour mark. It was through an unlikely source — Troels Kløve tried to send a back pass to Sten Gryteburg in the Odense goal but instead put the ball into his own net after being put under pressure by Onuachu.
Two minutes after resumption, Paul Onuachi got himself well-positioned to nod in Rafael Kurzawa’s free kick on the left side of the field to double the lead for his side.
The 24-year old striker completed his brace in the 71st minute, heading in Jakob Poulsen’s lofted pass, and Gustav Wikheim put the game beyond Odense when he poked home from close range following a counter.
Onuachu, who scored his first international goal during last month’s friendly with Egypt, paved way for Costa Rican forward Mayron George five minutes from time.
Onuachu is now on 16 goals, which includes 14 strikes in 24 league games.
His compatriot, Frank Onyeka, also started for the Wolves but was subbed off in the 77th minute.
Midtylland will face the winner of the tie between Brondby and Aalborg in the final on May 17.
